Rocket Spelling

In class we have a thing called rocket spelling. There's 50 levels in rocket spelling. Each level has a list of words. You start at a random level depending on how good you are already and try to level up by getting 25 words in your list right, but before you can have a test you have to do two activities that have to do with your spelling words. So one of them might be,
make a word search using your spelling words, or match up some synonyms. The words get harder as you level up. The purpose of it is so you learn some new words and get better at spelling. I started at level 11 and now I'm on level 22 and I want to try to get up to level 25 before the end of the year.

Camp

On the 21st to the 24th of November 2011 all of the year 6's went on camp to Borland Lodge.  It was called the adventure camp.  It was called the adventure camp because we were on an adventure doing lots of different things.  On camp we did a hike, a tyrolean traverse thing, outdoor cooking, horizontal bungee, archery, rafting, rock climbing, low ropes course, air rifle shooting, bivvy building, abseiling river swimming, a night walk and the Shrek games which we had to eat disgusting food and get 1st and 2nd out of 8 people to earn points for your group so your group can win a prize.  My favourite things on camp were the abseiling, the rafting, the bivvy building and the camp fire.  I liked the abseiling because it was really fun being at a high height and walking backwards on a wall.  I liked the rafting because we could push people of the raft, get pushed of the raft, go through the rapids and get wet.  I liked the bivvy building because we got to find big logs, sticks and dead plant pieces lying on the ground and got to make a hut in the bush in groups.  Some of us were going to sleep in them but it was a bit too wet.  And I liked the camp fire because we got to stay up late, make smores and talk around the fire.  They were all really fun.  What I didn't like so much on camp was the Shrek games.  It made me feel a bit queasy and sick.  Luckily I didn't spew.  If I had any advice to the year 6's next year it would be to not freak out about anything, don't be afraid to get dirty, put lots of insect repellent on and have fun.
