Sailing in the Oyster Regatta

Hi guys.  Tim here again.  I've got some good news to tell you.  On the 26th of March, to the 27 of March, I went to another Sailing Regatta.  This time is was called the Oyster Regatta.  There were only two Optimists in this regatta but it was still good.  It was held in Bluff this time.  We headed out to the sea in our Optimists.  But we had to be towed out because there wasn't enough wind .  Then it was a disaster.  When the race started we were just drifting away from the start line.  There was no wind at all.  And we just stayed driffting till lunch time.  But we had to get towed in of course.  After lunch we headed back out.  Luckily the wind had picked up.  It was a good steady wind.  We fitted three races in.  They were all very close races and we had no idea who was in the lead.  Then at Seven Oclock the party started. There were people dancing, People chatting to each other and there were also alot of oysters.  They were raw too.  Dad said he will give me two dollars if I ate one.  So I did.  I chewed it and swallow it down.  It was disgusting but it was worth it.  The party was over and people were going to sleep.  Day one was over.  In the morning I got ready for day two.  The weather was horrible so sailing was cancelled.  We were just doing random stuff till lunch time like making card castles.  My sister made a huge one that was eight stories high.  Unfortunatly it collapsed on the last card she needed to put on.  Finally It was time for prize giving. First was the sunbursts, Then lasers, Then finally the optimists.  "Second Place is no name" said the man, "and first place is Tim Smith".  Yes.  Once again I have won another Regatta.  I won a new sailing beanie, a box of mnm's, and a bag of chocolate bars.  I was proud of myself that I had won another regatta.  And I had a great time too.  Seeya.

My Multiple Intelligences

Hi guys.  We had a Multiple Intelligence quiz the other day.  But before I tell you my results I better tell you what they are.  Multiple Intelligences are your smarts.  There are lots of them.  There is Bodily-Kinaesthetic (Body Smart), Logical-mathmaticical (Math Smart), Musical (Music Smart), Interpersonal (People Smart), Intrapersonal (Myself Smart), Naturalist (Nature Smart), Visual- Spatial (Picture Smart), and Verbal-Linguistic (Word Smart).  Now you will be wondering why we have them.  We have them so we know what our strengths are.  OK.  Now time for the results.  My best Intelligence is Interpersonal.  Not far from that is My Naturalist Intelligence.  Then Third equal is my Visual-spatial and Musical Intelligences.  The other four ones were tied for fourth and they are Bodily-Kinaesthetic, Verbal-Linguistic, Logical-Mathmatical, and Intrapersonal Intelligences.  They are my results.  I think I'm good at my Interpersonal Intelligence because I've got good team work in my sports and I normally work better in a team.  I think I could improve on my Bodily-Kinaesthetic by getting outside and playing more than normal.  Thanks for reading.

Sailing in the Southland Champs

Hey everybody.  On the 12th of March, to the 13th of March I Went to the Southland Champs for sailing in Te Anau.  Oh, by the way, I sail my boat every Wednesday at bluff in the summers.  I've been sailing for about 2 years now. I'm in a boat  called an optimist and I was sailing in my optimist at the Southland Champs.  I was also in the Green Fleet which is the junior group of optimist sailers.  It was really good fun.  Finally it was over and it was time for the prize giving.  "First up we have the optimist" said the man.  "Third place is no name".  "Second place is no name".  "And First place is Timothy smith".  Yaaay. I was so pleased with myself.  I went up to receive my Trophy.  It was a big shield.  They put my name on it and I took it home.  Then I hung it up on my bedroom wall.  But since I won the green fleet it means that next season I have to be in the open fleet which is the senior group of optimist sailers.  Most of them have been sailing for about 5 or 6 years so this will be more challenging for me.  But I think thats good to have more of a challenge.  Thanks for reading.  By Tim

Why We Blog

Hi,  my name is Tim, and welcome to my blog.  I guess you're wondering why we have blogs.  Let me tell you a bit about them.  We use blogs so we can show the world our work we have done.  You might think that they're just for playing around on the computer.  But it's not.  Blogs can be used for learning as well.  You can put your work on them to show to people.  If you just write in your writing book or do something in your math book the only people that will see it are your teacher, your class mates, and maybe you might take it home  for your family to see.  But with blogs anyone around the world could see it. So I think blogs are a great learning tool to use.
